+ Position Overview

The Manager, Membership Engagement will be responsible for leading a portfolio of MxD members including top fortune 500 companies in technology and manufacturing, academics, and small businesses. This candidate will support engagement activities that include onboarding new members, responding to inquiries, and be responsible for renewal and retention of current members. This candidate will also have extensive experience in relationship management and a proven track record for success. Additional activities include leading interest groups, executive meetings, and creating compelling value packages. The ideal candidate will have experience in Account Management, Client Services, Customer Service or similar. Candidate must have demonstrated success working cross-functionally with technical/engineering and marketing teams.

+Position Responsibilities

  • Comfortable leading executive meetings, developing agendas, and prepping internal leaders.

  • Developing value and benefit models for members / clients.

  • Ability to lead focus groups and committees or member cohorts to drive strategy and execution forward to build stronger engagement activity with MxD.

  • Lead client-facing experiences such as tours, strategic meetings, and hosting members onsite at MxD.

  • Collaborates with the MxD programs and technical teams to research and identify potential event speakers, exhibitors, and attendees

  • Develops externally facing presentations, talking points, and other materials for MxD’s senior leadership team

  • Support membership engagement through building and maintaining relationships and identifying additional opportunities for them to deepen their involvement.

  • Conducts data and engagement analysis and derives insights related to membership growth.

  • Support the Director of Engagement in executing on member retention/satisfaction, additional channel partner development, and overall engagement strategy

+Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field

  • 6 years of experience in account management or client services.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; exceptional ability to communicate and present to senior-level staff

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, manage competing priorities, and use good judgment when resolving issues

  • Experience managing and leading teams.

  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple events in various stages of the planning process simultaneously; extremely detail-oriented; professional demeanor

  • Ability to function independently with little guidance and to complete projects in accordance with set timelines

  • Experience working collaboratively with engineering and marketing teams

  • Strong ability to build interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior-level executives

  • Strong PowerPoint slide design capability and other Microsoft Suite products

  • MxD is a 10-minute walk from the North and Clybourn Red Line stop, a 20-minute walk from the Division Blue Line stop, and accessible by a variety of other public transit options. MxD partners with ABM transportation to provide a free shuttle from various public transit stops in and around the Downtown Chicago area to MxD. Also, MxD provides free parking for employees.
