Sensor Kit Assembly Technician (Contract)

+ Position Overview

MxD is currently seeking experienced Electrical and Mechanical Assembly Technicians to build Sensor Kits and fabricate cabled sensors that accompany it. The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, fabricating, and testing Sensor Kits and cabled sensors, per provided work instructions Bill of Process documents.

This position is a 3 to 6 month contract position. If chosen, you will be paid through an employment agency.

+ Position Responsibilities

  • Assembling mechanical components with hand and power tools
  • Wire preparation and labeling per instructions
  • Wire assembly in the Sensor Kit
  • Basic solder skills preferred
  • Preparation of sub-assemblies per instructions
  • Ability to follow basic programming instructions
  • Ability to do basic functional testing
  • Fabricate cabled sensors

+ Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six months experience in a manufacturing environment; experience installing or maintaining PLCs preferred
  • Ability to work from designs, work instructions, and verbal instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity
  • Experience soldering preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills along with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work on-site
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours a day
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

  • MxD is a 10-minute walk from the North and Clybourn Red Line stop, a 20-minute walk from the Division Blue Line stop, and accessible by a variety of other public transit options. MxD partners with ABM transportation to provide a free shuttle from various public transit stops in and around the Downtown Chicago area to MxD. MxD also has free parking available for employees.
