Government Engagement Associate

+ Position Overview

The Government Engagement Associate is responsible for relationship and risk management for MxDís Government initiatives. This role serves as a primary liaison between Government partners and the institute and communicates decisions, priorities and relevant partner information to appropriate levels of staff regarding Government program requests, performance, and initiatives. This role is focused on leading and executing strong day-to-day operations in support of Government partner needs.

In addition, the Government Engagement Associate will support the Director of Engagement in identifying, exploring, and capturing new opportunities with government partners, making links between government interests, market needs, and Institute opportunities.

+ Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the VP of Engagement, Director of Engagement and Director of Technology Strategy on new initiatives to drive early stage ideas into valuable programs for Government partners
  • †Support the development of a comprehensive strategy for government business development by researching, identifying, and prioritizing government stakeholder requirements with market needs, and Institute capabilities
  • Execute strategy by translating government stakeholder requirements into actionable program plans and business cases which support their digital transformation efforts
  • Identify new areas for growth; propose and manage programs and initiatives accordingly
  • Manage cross-functional resource involvement and ensure continued engagement with the team and alignment with goals, specifically interfacing with Project Ideation and Project Execution teams
  • Lead the preparation and execution of select MxD grant efforts
  • Lead the preparation and project management of government requests for information
  • Key interface between government stakeholders and the institute

+ Position Requirements

  • Bachelorís degree required
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Proven ability to navigate multiple leadership levels within organizations (executive, technical, partner management)
  • Self-starter and able to work in both complex and ambiguous situations
  • Experience in business development, government contracting, or business operations is desired
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and participate on cross-functional teams
  • Ability to relentlessly problem-solve; unafraid of challenging the status quo
  • Excellent leadership and management skills that demonstrate teamwork and collaboration
  • Ability to shift priorities quickly, while maintaining organization and control
